Parking Options and Prices
· On-Campus parking: $275/per semester
o Parking spaces are located in lots adjacent to the NCU campus. Available for all residential NCU students.
· Commuter Parking: $55/ per semester
o Commuter students can apply for commuter parking only. Parking is available in the commuter lots (15th & Chicago lot, Zimmerman lot, Chicago Hall lot and “Commuter Only” designated spots on the upper East Ramp, facing the Library). There are 78 parking spots total in these lots. You are not guaranteed a spot each day as they are first-come first-served parking with more commuters than there are spaces available. The Security Office occasionally closes these lots for any special functions such as College Day, Community Outreach Day, Admissions Visit Days, Youth Center Events, etc. Commuters need to make alternate arrangements for such days. Commuter students will be made aware of these dates by email notifications sent to the email address provided in the parking application. In the event of a lot closure, daily parking is available in several off-campus lots (see ‘Off-Campus Parking Options’ below). These lots charge from $3-$9 each day.
· Mensing Ramp Parking: $280/per semester (Owned by Interstate Parking)
o Parking spaces are located in a parking ramp directly across from Mensing Hall. Resident Students may apply for Mensing Ramp parking only. Students must comply with the regulations of Interstate Parking. Students will be asked by Interstate parking to move their vehicles for Vikings Games held at the Mall of America field/Minnesota Vikings Stadium.
· Elliot East Parking: One Space Included in Rent
o Students receive one Elliot East lot parking space per apartment included with their rent. Residents must register for this included space. Additional students can apply for NCU on-campus parking or an off-campus parking option.
· Motorcycle Parking: $175/per semester
o This charge is for the permit as well as storage of the vehicle. Limited space available under the West Ramp.
· Bicycle Parking: $15 per academic year
o Bicycle permits may be purchased in the Security Office at the rate of $15.00 for the academic year. Bike storage areas include:
o Basement of Miller Hall (bike rack is to the immediate left as you enter the basement).
o Phillipps Bike Rack located in the Miller/Phillipps parking lot, on the south side of Phillipps Hall.
§ Note: All bikes stored in these locations must have a bike lock. U-shape bike locks are recommended.
· Minneapolis Critical Street Permit: $25 from August to August.
o The permit is issued by the city of Minneapolis but moderated by NCU. Parking on the streets around campus has a 2 hour limit. However, NCU residents are eligible for a Critical Parking Permit from the city of Minneapolis which allows them to park on the street at all times. Since a limited number of street parking permits are given to North Central, you must apply for street parking as soon as possible through NCU. Students who receive street parking will receive a “Street Parking Packet” from the Security Office. When they receive their parking packet after parking registration, they must take the information down to the city to be placed on file, and then the permit will be awarded by the City. Students must heed parking closures issued by the city, such as snow plowing or cleaning.
